Minister: “Handle our differences differently”
Kaschaka Cupid, Minister of Youth, Sports, Culture and Creative Industries and Member of Parliament for West St. George, condemned the Arnos Vale stabbing on Friday, while Browne was still in intensive care.
“My thoughts and prayers are with this young man and his family during this difficult time,” Cupid said. “We must learn to handle our differences differently.”
“We cannot allow violence to become normalised in our society,” he added. Cupid urged young people to walk away from conflict, talk to each other with respect and seek help during disputes, and said parents, schools, communities, law enforcement and the government all share responsibility for preventing violence.

A loss for a school and a community
Browne’s death will be felt most at West St. George Secondary, where his classmates and teachers have lost one of their own.
It also comes amid growing public concern over serious violence involving young people in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The Arnos Vale stabbing came less than a month after a businessman was shot dead in the same community in September. VPN has been tracking homicides across SVG this year.
Vincypowa News extends its condolences to Tafari Browne’s family, friends and school community.
Anyone with information about the Arnos Vale stabbing should contact the police.
