The killing is recorded as the 35th homicide on the One News SVG preliminary register for 2026. A homicide is the death of one person caused by another, and the classification does not on its own establish that a crime has been committed. While every murder is a homicide, not every homicide is murder. Murder requires proof of criminal intent or malice.
