PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad and Tobago: The Republic Bank executive appointments announced Friday name Parasram (Vic) Salickram and David Robinson to senior leadership positions at Republic Financial Holdings Limited (RFHL) and Republic Bank Limited (RBL). Both appointments are scheduled to take effect January 1, 2027, subject to regulatory approval.

The Republic Bank executive appointments were announced in an official media release dated Friday, October 16, and sent directly to Vincypowa News through the group’s media distribution. The announcement follows a separate leadership change disclosed a day earlier, but the bank has not stated that the decisions are connected.

Vic Salickram named Senior Group Vice President

Parasram (Vic) Salickram is scheduled to become Senior Group Vice President of Republic Financial Holdings Limited and Senior Vice President of Republic Bank Limited.

Salickram joined Republic Bank in 2004 and has worked across the group for roughly two decades. His experience includes responsibilities at subsidiaries in the Dominican Republic and Barbados, according to the October 16 release.

He previously held senior appointments including Chief Financial Officer, Chief Risk Officer, Vice President of Republic Bank, and Group Vice President of Republic Financial Holdings. The company did not specify his new portfolio or reporting responsibilities.

David Robinson appointed Group Vice President

David Robinson has been named incoming Group Vice President of Republic Financial Holdings Limited and Vice President of Republic Bank Limited, also effective January 1, 2027, subject to regulatory approval.

Robinson joined the organization in 1996. His previous positions include General Manager of Republic Wealth Management Limited, General Manager of Treasury, Acting Managing Director of Republic Bank (Suriname) N.V., and Acting Managing Director of Republic Bank (Guyana).

The announcement did not specify whether the new appointments fill existing vacancies, create additional positions, or involve changes to the executives’ current responsibilities.

Republic Bank Executive Appointments Follow CEO Succession Reversal

The latest appointments arrive one day after the Republic Group confirmed that Richard S. Sammy had left the organization effective October 14, following 18 years of service, and named Karen Yip Chuck as incoming Group President and Chief Executive Officer of RFHL and President and Managing Director of Republic Bank Limited from January 1, 2027, subject to regulatory approval.

Earlier in 2026, Sammy had been publicly identified as the person expected to assume those top positions on that same date. The subsequent announcement naming Yip Chuck marked a reversal of the previously disclosed succession arrangement. Vincypowa News examined that change in its report on Republic Bank’s reversed CEO succession plan.

The October 16 release does not link the Salickram and Robinson appointments to Sammy’s departure or explain why the earlier chief executive succession decision changed. The announcements are close in time, but that does not establish a common cause.

Republic Bank Executive Appointments: Why They Matter to the Caribbean

Republic Bank operates in St. Vincent and the Grenadines through Republic Bank (EC) Limited. Group-level executive appointments are therefore relevant to a banking institution serving customers, employees and businesses across the Eastern Caribbean.

Nevertheless, neither of the October executive announcements identifies changes to local banking fees, branch operations, customer accounts or services in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Such effects cannot be inferred from the leadership notices alone.

The company states that both new vice-presidential appointments require regulatory approval before taking effect on January 1, 2027. Until the necessary approvals are granted and the effective date arrives, the appointments should be described as forthcoming rather than completed.

Vincypowa News will continue following the Republic Group’s leadership transition and any additional disclosures concerning its Caribbean operations.
