Diddy Reportedly Injured in Prison Fight With Jamaican Drug Lord Christopher “Dudus” Coke

Diddy Reportedly Injured in Prison Fight With Jamaican Drug Lord Christopher “Dudus” Coke

TMZ, citing unnamed sources inside a New Jersey federal prison, says the music mogul came off worse in a clash with the former Tivoli Gardens strongman. The Bureau of Prisons has not confirmed the report.

Sean “Diddy” Combs was reportedly injured in a fight with Jamaican drug lord Christopher “Dudus” Coke at the federal prison in New Jersey where both men are serving their sentences, according to an exclusive report by TMZ.

TMZ, citing “multiple sources” inside the Federal Correctional Institution at Fort Dix, reported on Wednesday that the two men came to blows on Friday, October 9, and that Combs “got the worst of it.” The outlet said Combs suffered a head injury and was taken to an outside medical facility early the next morning.

The account of the fight between Diddy and Dudus Coke has not been independently confirmed. The Federal Bureau of Prisons told Deadline that “for privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not comment on the conditions of confinement.”

What TMZ says happened between Diddy and Dudus Coke

According to TMZ’s sources, the fight grew out of tension over Combs’ presence in the prison. The outlet reported that an NBC News story about Combs’ life behind bars led to at least two searches of the unit, during which guards confiscated cell phones, including one belonging to Dudus Coke.

TMZ’s sources described Coke as the “real kingpin” of the unit and said he lost “fringe benefits” as a result of the crackdown. They claimed other inmates blamed Combs for getting them in trouble.

TMZ reported that both men were placed in the Special Housing Unit, the prison’s form of solitary confinement, for two weeks. Combs was reportedly already being held there over the NBC News report.

Combs’ condition and his team’s response

Reports differ on the details, but none describes the injury as life-threatening. TMZ and Variety reported that Combs was conscious and talking, and People reported that he returned to the prison the same day.

A representative for Combs said: “We are aware of the reports concerning Sean Combs and are working to confirm the circumstances.” The representative said Combs’ health and well-being were the immediate concern. His team has not commented on the alleged role of Dudus Coke.

Combs, 56, is serving a 50-month sentence after a jury in July 2025 convicted him on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of the more serious charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking.

Who is Christopher “Dudus” Coke?

For readers across the Caribbean, Dudus Coke is a name far more familiar than the celebrity at the center of this story. Christopher “Dudus” Coke was once the most powerful man in West Kingston, the leader of the Shower Posse and the unofficial “don” of Tivoli Gardens.

When the United States sought his extradition on drug and gun trafficking charges in 2010, Jamaica’s security forces moved into Tivoli Gardens to arrest him. The operation left at least 69 civilians dead, according to the West Kingston Commission of Enquiry, and remains one of the darkest chapters in modern Jamaican history.

Coke was captured weeks later and extradited to New York. He pleaded guilty in 2011 to racketeering conspiracy and conspiracy to commit assault with a dangerous weapon, and in June 2012 a federal judge sentenced him to 23 years in prison, the maximum available under his plea.

Social media posts circulating since the TMZ report describe Coke as “locked up since 2012.” That is imprecise. He has been in United States custody since his extradition in June 2010. The year 2012 is when he was sentenced. The Jamaica Gleaner reported in May 2026 that his projected release date had moved to January 2028.

What remains unconfirmed

The key facts of the Dudus Coke story rest on anonymous sources quoted by a single outlet. Prison authorities have declined to comment, Combs’ representatives say they are still working to confirm what happened, and there has been no statement from Dudus Coke or his lawyers.

Vincypowa News will update this story if the Bureau of Prisons, Combs’ legal team or Coke’s representatives provide further information.
